lowimpact.org

I've linked to the blog because a lot of the articles are about things that we'd probably think of as "prepper country":
- cohousing projects (a MAG :D )
- denial of near-term societal collapse (hmm, they do think being a prepper is one form of denial, though they also seem to agree that people should be doing things. This one's written by an academic, pah).
- building an off the grid solar cooker
- wood durability guide

etc, and so on. The main website is pretty uneven (nothing at all under DIY!) but there are also some good links, and some practical input in the comments on the site as a whole.

Interesting reading that one and up to a point I do have some sympathy with that one. Not so much on our forum but perhaps more common on US sites there seems to be an attitude that if one tools up and calls oneself a prepper then that alone will guarantee survival. Of all the reasons for denial in that article I can't help thinking the seventh one , the "we're stuffed and can't do anything so we may as well just ignore it and enjoy ourselves" is probably the most common one and one I find people who have previously worried and even campaigned over problems are starting to have. Probably indicative of how society is going down the pan .

Another guy, Dr Guy McPherson, expounds for societal / human extinction due to climate change impacts in 10 years or so;
