For Foundation and Intermediate some groups run a course but don't ask you to join the club. Dave Wilson ( former RSGB President) runs such a course which covers Merseyside Lancashire and Cheshire. I did my first two with his group over a few weekends. It is till worth joining a club. You get the chance to pick other peoples brains and try out different equipment before you buy.

Try again now, you need to have 10 posts approved before you can PM, you're now on 11. ;)

Steve Hartley's email address is G0FUW@tiscali.co.uk give him a shout, tell him you're interested in the Distance learning Foundation course. Good luck!
