Cooking Outdoors

I came across a great looking piece of outdoor cooking gear last year; The Ozpig. Has anyone out there actually bought or used one, if so what do you think? It looks great for barbecues, camping and emergency cooking but looks rather heavy to cart about. It comes with a hefty price tag too!
They can be found at: http://www.ozpig.co.uk

It would be terrific for a shed or other permanent camp but its bloody dear! I dare say a dutch oven on a nice campfire would do the same job though.

I haven't tried one Panther and they look good but like you say, a tad expensive. I would have trouble getting it past MrsCC. Have you seen the "Frontier Stove"...similar sort of thing but a bit cheaper http://www.campingsolutions.co.uk/campi ... stove.html I havent got one of those either but they do look good and a more reasonable price

I was trying to work out what one Ray Mears used in his tent in the Northern Wilderness series, I never found out but have just bought the book of the series so hopefully he has put the details in there

Lil, I think one advantage of these type things is that you can possibly use them inside for heat as long as you have the flue / ventilation sorted out.

Oh right. And they are cheaper than an actual stove but more expensive than a camping stove. I like the design of them.

seems they've come down in price Hobo, bought mine last year cost me £62-95! a lot cheaper than an Ozpig and a lot easier to lug around!
