Not the cheapest but this place has a fantastic reputation for service http://www.heinnie.com/search.asp?numSe ... rtRecord=1

I got THE Gerber Gator 18" and its a good machete, I used it to chop a 4" tree down in the garden , took 3 hits , about £25

Heinne Haynes. Definitely. Been buying from them for years. Check out the Spec Plus SP8 by Ontario - real heavy duty chopper. Or Condor, Cold Steel, CRKT or BK&T also make more traditional machetes. I favour a cleaver type - more heft and weight with a thicker blade - really depends on what you want to use it for ? Gardening or Zombie Killer ?
If I fail, at least I fail whilst daring greatly, so that my place will never be with those cold and timid souls who have known neither victory or defeat

Simply THE best gardening tool !
I have a five quid Tramontina , Sunday Market jobbie. Came in a canvas sheath, sharp as hell, easy to keep that way,and it earns it's keep. This brand is what is sold all across Latin America, amd places where these are used daily.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
