Ideal Hand saws

Post by axelt123 »

I currently use these saws when climbing trees at work and are the best in the trade. Almost all tree surgeons use them. This type of saw would be idea to put into your stores. Well worth they weight in gold. Will saw through thickish timber if you have the energy. Will cut throught 3inch timber in seconds.

my best saw type i think is the Silky Gomtaro 300 Saw (comes with with sheath and belt clip)

or other saws (try to keep to the silky branded saws)

Here two pic of my saw Silky Gomtaro 300 (as above)-

Useful info to have. Is there any good folding saws out there? Or would you reccomend staying away from them? Reason I'm asking is I've hears good reviews about the Bahco Laplander from several prepping friends, and was curious on your opinion?

they may well be a good saw but the good point is that they take up les space but
i have only been a tree sergeon for a few years and most people have said to avoid foling saws and that the silky brand are the best out there ( i agree). They are the sharpest saws i have ever used. Very long lasting. May sizes out there so have a look on honey bros (link above).
You also might want to consider some karabeiners. so many uses and they are very strong.

Thanks for posting the links , i lke the fact they have a decent sheaf.
Also if tree surgens recommend them i listen as those lads dont want to be 40 ft up a tree with a duff saw in there hands, they are doing a job and require tools to perform the task.
