There is absolutely nothing wrong with Maglites. Sure my Jetbeam is more up to date, efficient, compact etc. But when I am walking home through 'adrenalin grass' I like the comforting heft and broad flood of my LED converted Magcharger. Now a 200kg Lion will not even blink at getting clubbed by the 'charger, but my guests like a big professional looking torch - not some turbo charged solitaire :-)

And if the bad guy is a human as opposed to animal, then that big maglite... And no euro **** can start on about 3" blades and locks and all. I know what I would rather carry when walking the dog/facing a p****d off Zombie. Especially in EU/UK which is way more bloody dangerous than Africa.
Cheers and happy Christmas
