Yes the solar charger has 2x 2a usb sockets and a little black box which controls the charge.

The battery packs have inbuilt charge wires and micro usb output and usb sockets and a charge indicator

The kit is almost universal and can be used in various ways I could plug my phone into the solar charger directly if I wanted to

I like having the options to charge be it mains usb charger / off a computer or laptop / off the car or solar if needed

And if something dies I can just replace the dead item rather than the whole system..

If you want a Decent battery pack look at the new jump start packs eg

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Suaoki-Starter ... ref=plSrch

With the added use of been able to jump a car off too

Like Andy I use a panel to either charge battery banks or devices like phones directly. I've also got usb powered battery chargers for AA/AAA and 14500/18650's. Here's a link to what looks very similar.

I also have a small folding mains adaptor so that if its available, mains will do nicely too. Link here.

I got my jump pack from lidl last year only starts 2.0l petrol and 1.6 diesel but i managed to use it to start a 2.5l diesel perkins engine on a forklift at work when it wouldnt crank due to a knackered battery ...... Think paid £40 for it

I have one of those jump starter packs, not from Lidl, it's great but it does seem to discharge all by itself at an alarming rate - I put all my spare (i.e. not connected to the solar panels) 12v batteries (a couple of golf batteries and two jump starters) on charge every 3 months to keep them topped up, but in that 3 months this one had gone down to zero charge! Not sure if that is common or a faulty pack. :(

These power banks are available to order at £36.99 https://www.amazon.co.uk/RAVPower-26800 ... r+26800mAh
Still looking out for the higher capacity 32000s but these seem a very good price.

peejay wrote: Thu Jun 14, 2018 11:21 am I have the RavPower 24w panel which seems to do quite well. 3 USB outputs so I have 2 USB battery banks anyway & have used it to charge these. Easily get max 2.4a out of it in good sun so capable of charging as quickly as (most) wall-plug chargers.

Advantage of separate panel/power banks is I can add to the power banks if I choose.
Currently £62 at Amazon

Ditto. I use a RAVPower 26800mAh power bank. Currently £37 from Amazon.

One thing that seems to be missed sometimes is the re-charge time. Oodles of battery banks are out there but most do not feature the fast re-charge.

The one shown in amazon states this "Note: Does not support Qualcomm Quick Charge"

So I guess if you are re-charging from a solar panel charged marine battery or just the mains it can/will take hours? Places link banggood do sell a range called blitzwolf which seems to have a good rep and although a bit more than others maybe this should be a feature considered a "must"?

https://www.banggood.com/BlitzWolf-BW-P ... rehouse=CN

Cheers

EDIT: just noticed banggood cannot post the above the UK. Not sure why as they did before. Sometimes if they have EU stock they will I reckon.

The RAVpower one claims 14-15 hour charge with a 2.4A charger.

Evening all.
I purchased the below power bank for when I worked in the Middle East, the power supply wasn’t the best out there even when relying on genny’s. Anker products have worked without fault for me over the last 4 years at work and also out and about in the MH.

Haven’t dabbled with the solar charge side of things but would like to sort out some set up.
Loving the pics and genuine reviews of people’s kit, I hate going by the manufacturers spiel!
