Hi Guys,
First post on here so apologies in advance.
Righty. I'm thinking a gas mask of sorts might be a good idea and wondered if there were any chemical specialists on here who could make an informed suggestion. Alternatively which ones do you like the look of? he he.
Gas mask preference
Re: Gas mask preference
What scenario are you preparing for?
Any major NBC incident would require the use of more PPE than just a mask.

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
Re: Gas mask preference
yup as said any NBC incident would require more than a mask .... you'd also need many spare filters as most are only good for 12 hours use, NBC suit, gloves, boot covers etc. could get very expensive for something with a low likelihood of happening.
I guess you have to do your own risk assessment on it and go from there.
my personal preference would be the GSR (pictured below), they're not civilian issue though and any you see online are most likely stolen from army stores or people selling they're own kit which they probably shouldn't be doing.
beside the GSR the S10 is a decent mask and filters can be picked up cheap.
they're are a few threads discussing Masks already on the forum you should check them out.

Get face fit tested as a mask that doesn't fit is useless... .

Re: Gas mask preference
As posted above I would go for the GSR.
The single lens offers better visibility and the two filters give you the ability to change out your filters without restricting use while you do so.
Get the right "inside" fit though or it could leak.

Re: Gas mask preference
I remember my old school teacher saying during ww2 why did the soldiers have 2 lenses and the civvy only 1 lense.
1civvy lense cheaper to make. 2 army lenses, if you break 1 you can hold your hand over the broken one and keep on going.
Kinda makes sense but not sure how the soldier would load and cock his weapon though
I have a few S10 masks still. Previous most mentions filters are cheap for those now...please share where? Cheers
