Aldi Vacuum Sealer

No idea of what the quality will be like but might be useful for someone http://www.aldi.co.uk/ambiano-vacuum-fo ... 0174554200 comes with a 3 year warranty. They are also selling the refills.

Used mine till an upgrade came along, the bags sometimes have leaks, but as a starter pack a great bit of kit.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

I would hope Aldi have a good one here, the bags look the business though not as good value as the ones we get from Andrew James, we had an entry level one a few years back. We got one of these https://www.andrewjamesworldwide.com/ki ... ealer-p461 not wanting to mess about any more, it's going strong after a year or so. I don't think we paid that much for it though.
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

My vacuum sealer came from Lidl, also had a three year warranty so there's a chance they're made by the same people and rebranded.
Has lasted me a couple of years so far and no sign of it giving up yet.
The only thing wrong with it is that the stick on rubber feet fell off and that happens to everything with stick on rubber feet!
Really useful bit of kit, not only for food use but also for reducing the size of and protecting things for edc kits, plastic ponchos for example will vacuum down to about a quarter of their original size and it stops them getting ripped in a pouch or a bag.

From the looks of it they are a brand themselves, because there are what look like the exact same things with other names on them as with other things you live and learn, when it comes to dehydrators, vac sealers, and no doubt many other things, we try entry level things ( I think the first vac sealer had the kenwood name on it which ain't a bad brand, but after a fashion it was clear both with the bags and the machine we were in chocolate teapot territory, I have a bit of a reputation for finding cheaper ways to do things, but when I bother to research first ( as with the Excalibur dehydrators) even for me the buy once cry once route comes highly recommended ;)

For quite a few year we have been using these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077B ... _i=1090768

Teh above is just an example. We use it for the freezer, although not sure how well they fair in your back pack.

We bought ours 10 years ago and came with about 20 bags. Only replaced the bags last year and some of the old ones are still going strong. You can even get a hand pump version.
