I have various 1kg and 2kg ABC powder extinguishers dotted around, including in the shed where the solar equipment resides. Not sure that releasing CO2 in an enclosed space is any more preferable to releasing powder. And powder does less damage than water I'd have thought. The restoration of a local church organ after rain got into the workings was very, very considerable!

The biggest one in my house lives in the bedroom, I think of it as my "Fight-Your-Way-Out" kit (we can't exit via any of the upstairs windows easily without outside assistance.)
I'd rather have a 6kg for that job then a 2kg.

Water will be much less damaging than powder in most situations ime... But not as versitile and will freeze
CO2 is hazardous in a confined space then so is smoke from a fire
CO2 is only intended for flammable liquids or electric fires. In class A fires it blows burning debris all over potentially spreading the fire once the co2 dispurses the remaining heat can cause a fire to reignite
It's also worth noting there are 2 type of dry Powder. ABC and BC the latter been useless on class a

SOLD! Thanks guys.
Just ordered this little beauty (1 litre - 2.9kg - 402x110mm) for the caravan, ideal as it wouldn't destroy the vans interior and fabrics if used. Very reasonable price at £46.79 inc delivery and approved by our insurers.
