Mini usb torch head thing??

Post by sniper 55 »

I've seen a few videos where people have a tiny led torch or lantern head thing that plugs into a battery bank (seen here is this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGW12VBV4co) I've looked on ebay but my search is only finding usb rechargable lights or big lanterns.
Anybody know what they are called or have a link?. I'd like the torch and the lantern if I could find them.
Thanks.

Just had a look, the first link haggis posted looks similar to my torch and costs about the same, that one came from eBay so I would imagine it's either exactly the same or close enough, the little lantern though I'm drawing a blank I'm afraid, it came with the powerbank from B&M bargains a while ago, I'm sure they're on eBay somewhere but it needs the right search terms to get it to come up and I haven't managed yet.

If you do have a B&M close by have a look in there, and I'll have a scout round on eBay to see if I can find one that looks similar, I wouldn't mind a spare one as it's been really handy!

Cheers for watching my video by the way. :)

Edit: Closest I can find is these, they give a diffused area light the same as mine, but they're not as small and neat. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 2405224405

There are various options coming up, so I would suggest doing a search and having a look, the search term I'm using is "USB mini LED bulb" or "USB mini light", and switch your search results to lowest price + postage, and buy it now only, that gives a few different kinds that I would say are worth a look.

I suspect that my one was made in the same factory as the powerbank which is why it fits so well, there will be something that will suit though and it shouldn't cost much more than a quid.

That looks exactly like it, good find. 75p more than I paid but I'd spend more than that in diesel going to B&M.

One thing I like about it is that it has a button that lets you turn it on and off, my other powerbanks only let you turn it on, to turn it off you have to unplug it.
It's only a small battery but it runs the lights for ages.

Oh cool! To use a battery bank as a power source for a USB light for some reason totally escaped me! I have several of the Ikea Jansjö USB lights which I rather like as you can angle the light where you need it. Just tried them in the various power banks and they work blinding! I do quite like those diffused bulbs though....

It's come in really handy, I stayed at my father in law's place a while ago in one of his spare rooms while I was doing a course, no table lamp in there and to turn the main light on or off meant getting out of bed, so rather than blunder about in the dark or use a torch it served as a table light reasonably well, not the nicest light in the world as it's a cold white LED but it did the job as a bit of light while watching a film on my iPad or getting in and out of bed.

Many thanks mate, does look like it so I've ordered one and a couple of the torch heads from one of the other links.
I'll let you know if it's any good.
A big thanks for all the help everybody. :D
