Torch Clip / clamp

Post by BugOut66 »

I'm a torch nut. Love them.

Love knowing I can put my hand on one anywhere around the house or in my car but I'm not happy...

I've been looking for some kind of clip so that I can mount my torches to door frames, walls etc. it seems like a simple enough thing but I can't find anything specific or even anything I could hack together.

needs to be something that the torch could just snap in and out of, like a C shaped clip.

Anyone any solutions?

Check out the home security thread, Maysey (spelling ???) had something to hold torches by his front door I think.

Tool-clips from hardware shops, Wilkos maybe, they are for clipping things like brooms to a wall. They mount with a screw or two and are available in larger-than-broomhandle sizes.

Or, if you is posh, try a gun shop like Brownells, Or AliExpress or Gearbest. Or Uttings, even - anywhere that does tactical type torchy stuff...I believe Mag-lite do their own gucci ones.

Talking of "hack", as per O.P - how about the top end of a small fire extinguisher wall mounting? Get a couple of scrap ones from a caravan breaker, chop in half, bolt/glue/weld top ends together, hey presto, magic plastic coated maglite bracket! :D

You can even save the lower halves for when you want to mount something, ummm...fatter, on the wall. Maybe an emergency bottle of gin, or similar (?)
