For me its a springer, no question.
A decent springer, spares and even a spare spring and you have a reliable catcher for game for decades to come.
Now what about a kit to cast your own pellets!!

I've had far too many experiences of PCP seals failing and cylinders failing to store air. CO2 guns are just not reliable enough as they lose air over a fairly short period of time. For me it's quality sprinters every time.
Air pistols are good for shooting tin cans and that's about all!

I agree with most of you, PCP and CO2 will struggle post SHTF, upkeep, seals and gas will be major problems. I have a .177 Weinrauch Hw97K that is almost bulletproof as my choice. I do have PCP and CO2 guns as well, but the 97K has never let me down.

Re: Spring V CO2 Air Pistol
Thank you all for your insight and advise
I have purchased a Gamo Whisper Igt
Also a old BSA mercury air rifle for my collection.
I did purchase the little air pistol and done some 15 meter targets but as said the power is lacking and not much use for any thing else
Thanks again for all who commented
