Some people are reporting a shortage or complete lack of seed potatoes available from their usual suppliers, anyone on here found the same?
Then I found this recent article;

I've got a nice big supermarket order coming today - 10% less in price than it should be. No litres of handwash, no Scottish oats (wtf??? No oats?)
Still working on decluttering - when the shopping's all packed away, I'm wondering about burning/ shredding all my client notes, and getting rid of the specialist books. It's well over 4 years since I retired, and nobody's going to sue me now (I know thats famous last words, but it *is* 4 years, I've never had even a complaint. My insurance company always gives 3 years free insurance against being sued to people who retire in good standing, like me - I'd *love* to get those last remnants of the work out of the house!

An employer of mine told me years ago that books should be kept for 7 years before destruction. Just a thought.Arzosah wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 8:54 am I've got a nice big supermarket order coming today - 10% less in price than it should be. No litres of handwash, no Scottish oats (wtf??? No oats?)

We did a check of the food inventory and only found one mistake so happy about that.
Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.
My cupboards in the utility room have been full of cleaning and hygiene products for ages and the overflow is now stacked on the floor which is causing a tripping hazard, so now I need to buy some decent storage for it all. We bought enough seeds for at least next year recently but need either a new cover for the plastic greenhouse, a small poly tunnel or a polycarbonate greenhouse still undecided on this and are trying to reorganise our outside space so that we can fit in a small chicken coop and run in Spring. We wont be able to have lighting in it so decided that it isnt worth the investment at this time of year and so have powdered and frozen eggs as a reserve for now. We also have new neighbours and whilst we appreciate them cleaning up their garden (formerly a huge tangle of hedging and brambles) it means that our garden is less secure and need to look into putting a high fence up.
Growing old disgracefully!

You could consider a slightly lower fence with trellis and something thorny to grow over it. Not as obviously unfriendly if you do want to get to know the neighbours and a pain to climb over without getting ripped to shreds

The tax records, absolutely - in fact, while I own the dratted French apartment, I'll always have to make declarations, but they're a lot simpler these days. No, sorry, I was referring to client records, ie notes I've written about sessions, things they said, things I thought, all of that. The finances have their own storage boxjansman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 5:54 pmAn employer of mine told me years ago that books should be kept for 7 years before destruction. I'm starting to replace things that on going on the fritz. Just ordered a new shredder as the old one makes an awful grinding sound now and won't be long till its down. Also looking to replace the hoover. I was given a 1970's Hoover Junior which is amazing and easy to fix until I realised there were no tools obvs. I am ordering some shelves for the inside of my fridge door. On the last model they were fine but this one, same make, break all the time. I'm going to get 2 and store them. Next is to up my tinned meat storage.
