I thinkw hatever I decide, I'll get one of those big Ikea Kallax storage units. Handy and don't take up much space.
My machine soldiered on for about a year when the bearing started to go. I just closed the utility room door so I couldn't hear it!

When our last WM finally threw its hand in I had a few choices.
I could pay the supplier of the new one to take it away.
I could pay the council to pick it up.
Borrow a van and take it to the local 'recycling centre' (dump).
Or I could strip it and let the scrappies have the case and motor.

I now have a new stainless steel incinerator and the guy who collected it didn't have a massive lump of concrete to stick on his truck.... Result!

I have seen several very nice looking braziers in campsites made from old washing machine drums.

Well we did a kid swap at Mrs A's work car park and a chap shouted over friendly enough pointing out she had a brake light out
..

So quick test oh it's on no it's off push the brake down with the tail lights on the whole cluster goes :? So Tonight I've cleaned all the contacts and traced the earth bank and now it works.... Bit of contact cleaner did the trick....

Put new brake light bulbs in whilst I was at it 10x ring branded bulbs £4 from the local motor factors

Next up is her cam belt as its way over due  £25 for belt, tensioner and water pump ... Looks a easy job to do on hers (crosses fingers)

Anything I don’t want I just leave outside the front. It all goes within a few hours: boxes, chairs, old appliances etc.

White glad not to have to dump stuff. I hate waste!

Added another 10kg of plain flour to the pantry (well I say pantry it's currently in 2.5kg bags, sealed into heavy plastic bags and sat in the deep freeze until Monday night ...

Managed to get a big pot of baking powder too

Oh and some sugar / icing sugar too

Plus 50x "surgical masks" 40p each it worked out at more now as I can see the wearing a mask when out and in shops been a legal requirement lass in shop was saying people were kicking off about the £20 per box price tag.... Already given 5 to an elderly gent who is a family friend for his bus rides to the shops

Ordered a sack of plain flour as this is one of the things I and other family members have struggled with which will be seperated and vacuum sealed into smaller bags. Had a 2 tonne delivery of firewood because although we normally get free wood our supply has been affected by Covid. It would normally be a toss up between paying for firewood or filling up the oil tank, but due to cheap oil this has already been done. Have screenwash and de-icer ready for winter as it was on offer at the supermarket. Did my usual monthly shop at Msons only to find that a lot of things are not available and not just things which have been in short supply of late. Had to do an additional order at Tsco and could only order 2 broccoli, Msons had none available and mine isnt growing great this year. Winter worries me a lot right now what with Covid and Brexit and I am doing all I can to ensure that we have enough for us and to share with immediate family if required. Baking supplies are in very short supply, not only flour but essences, dried fruit etc and I hopefully have my sons wedding cake to make at the end of September and am buying what I can when I can ingredients wise. We have also done some work security wise around the property in addition to what we already had.

Noticed our local Lidl had flour in today but I'd ordered some from our local "health food shop' so paid the premium  :o the local polish shops seem well stocked with baking supplies bing the bunny seemed to like daddy's waffles this morning with home grown strawberries

Congratulations to your son and future in-laws :)

Currently sorting out Mrs A's car low milage super mini (matiz) town car, back tyres are dated 2014 and going hard and cracking still legal but not clever it's very light so pricing up new ones but all season tyres are not common in her size either cheap china ditch finders or bloody mortgage jobbies which are more than my big 4x4 mid range tyres. Half decent "summer" tyres are £30 a corner all seasons closer to £50 and not a flake of snow last winter (that's me jynxed it)

Cam belt is in the post for it too MOT due end of the month but it will get it's extension not that it won't pass

Still got 15+ litres of winter screen wash on the shelf and finally took the deicer and snow chains out my boot about a fortnight ago

Our daughters' husbands are both fearful for their jobs right now.One works in a textile factory that specialises in military and aerospace products. Problem is the kevlar section has one customer only - Rolls Royce - and they are laying off thousands themselves. The other is a mechanical/ electrical fitter for a quarry company. One guy has retired, and not being replaced, along with no apprentice intake this year. He tells me that work is scant. As a result half of the crew have been furloughed.

Fortunately, both of the girls have huge stocks of essentials, and are stashing cash where they can. After a conversation with them last night,I realised quickly that they are making mum and dad look like amateurs! They are also more politically aware than I thought,as they both cited Brexit too,and neither have faith in 'The System'.

So this week we shall embark on a systematic restock of everything. We have half of the coal we shall need,so that will be squared. We have all the firewood we need ,and more.Non prescription medication is a weak spot,so that will be next on the list.Another prep,as soon as we are able,is urgent dental treatment. Both of us have problems, that in normal times, would be sorted immediately. I feel a rather large list coming on...
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
