It has gone. The mortgage that is :D We were looking forward to having a few extra £ but sadly youngest daughter who is still at home has just lost her job. She is being very proactive trying to secure a new one, but it is likely that we will have to cover her outgoings until she does. Really glad to have extra food and household items etc stored right now.

I need to tighten up spending on food. When you're ill and tired you stop caring, and get careless and lazy. And that's where I am now. Bugger

Congratulations Medusa! Though I'm sorry to hear about your youngest daughter's job :(

Sorry about this too, Lil :( I absolutely get where you're coming from. I'm sure you're in time to pull it back, I think that if there *are* waves of unrest that hit the country because of the course we're being taken, it won't hit just yet. It's hard to stop 'careless and lazy' though, isn't it, and start being more active. Getting outside, into the garden, always helps me. Do you manage to spend time outside every day? Every day that its not piddling down, that is :(

It is a great place to be,and well done.Trust me,that money you are saving will disappear unknowingly! Your daughter will find work. For those who want it,there is work out there. In the meantime,be pleased you can help her.Its what parents do.

In concentrating on clearing my garden, I've let go the stocks a little bit. Changed that after spending the day with my sister, who's just bought everything on a mahoosive shopping list, specifically because of Brexit - big enough that its not stacked in the kitchen. So this evening I've been restocking the shelves - delivery for next week, but I'll be doing a bit more over the weekend. Brexit, holiday stuff, and normal restock, for me.

Can I just say that I'm also horrified at the number of cat ornaments I had   :? a dozen or so of which I didn't actually like  they're now packing out the aisles in the charity shops :)

I’ve planted more spuds for the winter, will be planting some onions, cabbage, cauliflower, carrots and beetroot for the winter.

Also I’ll be buying some more seeds to keep to one side from http://www.realseeds.co.uk/ I think I found out about them on here, I bought some seeds from them at the start of the year and they’ve been great.

Hi lil, I can genuinely empathize with how you must be feeling at present. Eighteen months ago I went through treatment for cancer. I really couldn't raise the energy or effort to keep up with much at all. My prepping stocks were not kept up, the garden became rather tatty and overgrown, DIY jobs were stacking up and I just couldn't concentrate on any of it. Once clear of the treatment and as the months ticked by I had a couple of normal blood test results. I then slowly regained interest (mainly through having a guilty conscience at being so lazy!) It's taken well over a year for energy levels to improve and even now I have to pick my moments and know when to stop.
I sincerely hope you'll soon be on the road to recovery but don't punish yourself for being lazy or losing impetus, it's only to be expected if you've been ill. Take things one day at a time, try if you can to do something prep related every day. It doesn't need to be anything major, just buying a couple of extra tins (or bars of chocolate :) ) will help you feel you're achieving something again. Take care, good luck. Panther

I'm definitely getting there thank you. Some of the side effects of both radio therapy and hormone treatment can last for a long time after treatment has ended but they're more of an inconvenience than a real problem. I'm fully back to prepping again and busily restocking before October 31st. I'm told life could become interesting round about then.
