I feel for you mate...I spent a couple of years working abroad but paid from the UK. Came home to a 46K tax demand- they had "estimated" my earnings and it took quite a fight to get out of that..

good luck and keep your head up buddy

In fairness this issue won't cause a total blowout in The Tyre Of Life, more like a slow puncture! But it highlights ( as the rest of you have said) how life can deal a blow when least expected.

A book I read about self sufficient living, written just after the Arab Oil Embargo of the 70's highlighted just that. The author said, about home heating," Be it gas,oil ,electricity or coal, a single government decision can wreck your home economy overnight." In other words, not your fault but you suffer.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Robert Frost.

I thought it was john Seymour, sounds like one of his quotes.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain~anon

Bang on! :D

The quote ( paraphrased I must add) is from 'On Next To Nothing' by Thomas and Susan Hinde.Printed in 1977 if I remember correctly.Written after the said embargo and during a decade of general hardship and crap economy. Its been my bible in a way,not particularly an instruction book, but one that inspires you to look further into topics.
