There is a closed season between 15 March and 15 June on rivers maybe a club or the EA have posted it. Just a thought

If you don't have anyone to fish with the easiest way to learn are by watching some youtube videos aND then practicing. If you meet another fisherman while at a river you'll likely strike up a conversation and they will more often than not share what they know. More often you'll have a hard time shutting them up.
