Still been tinkering with foodstocks for the camper. us boys with our toys eh? Finally settled on this. Everything now has its place and redundant camping items moved into the garage.

One thing I don't see much on peoples lists is fruity drinks like squash. After we lived on preps (for a laugh) out of the camper, it's the sort of thing we missed although we don't normally drink that much of it.

I've taken some time off of prepping due to birth of my daughter on 5th November (knackered lol).

Started agai with just basics today. Stocked up on nappies and formula and got the car as winter ready as I could afford.

EDIT: bought a MAG solitaire LED single cell earlier. Much brighter compared to the standard version

Congratulations, PreparedKent. Here's a challenge for you as a new parent and prepper. Go on a trip for a day with all you'll need for the little one without it looking like you're preparing for a full blown bug out!! I seem to remember (it's been a while) that taking a baby anywhere used to fill an estate car before any people got in!

That used to work for me but in those olden days we didn't think that something awful would happen if we didn't take half the house with us.

It's amazing what you pick up on here... Thanks to Yorkshire Andy, my wife is now off to ToysRus to buy some presents and get a voucher. (down goes my bank balance)

On the prepping side this week I've sorted through all my med/First Aid kits, torches and go-bags around the house swapping out some of the bits that were out of date, checking batteries and swapping summer kit for winter kit.

You are probably thinking WTF!? In each of the main rooms and the car I have a first aid kit, torch & small multitool. Then alongside this I've a medical kit which I keep in the lounge with meds in. In my man-cave Ive a trauma kit, and a rather extensive but compact med-kit in the car. The idea being no matter where I am in the house if we suddenly loose lights or have an accident there are supplies handy.

Also in the car I've swapped to my winter kit. I've two self-heating MRE's which I liberated from the Americans last year when my last joint exercise. (they just love English 24hr rations) Thermal blankets, Wind up radio, cylumes & magnetic holders (can attach them to the outside of the car that way) Thermal socks, 2 litres of water & a compass. (I don't believe in 72 hours kit in the car as you are never really 24hrs from help in the UK) Plus it all fits in the space in the boot where the standard first aid kit went and the picnic blanket we used to keep in it.

Finally from when I used to live right in the sticks I checked my 72 hour kit. I've got 72 hours of rations, jet-boil, water and auxiliary kit that should we be cut off by bad weather, lose power etc and we've run out of food or water is off we can still function. I've also added a couple of portable battery packs for charing electronic equipment last year and gave them a run down and re-charge.

So that's me done for this week. Wife has just text to say she is heading back, should get the brews on.
