Arzosah, keep strong. Thinking of you.

Still been tinkering with foodstocks for the camper. us boys with our toys eh? Finally settled on this. Everything now has its place and redundant camping items moved into the garage.

One thing I don't see much on peoples lists is fruity drinks like squash. After we lived on preps (for a laugh) out of the camper, it's the sort of thing we missed although we don't normally drink that much of it.

7lives: my brother in law died a few years ago, it was a huge shock, not just the unexpectedness, but also the fact that he was of my own generation. Hope you're okay.

BlinkingCory: thanks, yes, staying strong is crucial at this point in time. Because of the whole chronic fatigue thing, that means being very careful as to the amount of stuff I actually do.

Contents of the camper:    Thats definitely a holiday list :D and nowt wrong with that. I never drink squash, I find it appalling, but it might have its uses in disguising the taste of purification tabs, for instance. I like the emphasis on tastiness with the sauces and whatnot you have, thats really important.

With being up and down the country on the train, I'm very restricted in what I can carry, of course - so as well as ordinary snacks, I've got a big pack of roasted peanuts and half a kilo of dried fruit, both foods being very intense in calories and nutrition, and shelf stable too. Thats it, foodwise

See, BlinkingCory's post is why this place is dangerous: the idea of loading up a camping van with supplies and kit is just really too attractive. I love it! :P

This week I've stocked up on high-calorie cans of food, and am trying out condensed milk as a high-calorie prep. I'm also starting to get to know my local area better and getting fitter thanks to a batch of OS explorer maps.

Well I guess I best start talking to you people as that's why I joined.

So last big project was putting together a diy gravity water filter and only being able to buy a pack of 3 buckets meant that I had one spare to make a kettle for my all grain brewing

This week I have mainly be concentrating on the things like soap, toilet paper and a few bars of chocolate, I think we are about at 7 days worth of food (and the kitchen cupboards are looking health themselves anyway so I think we could probably push to at least 10.)

Also started making wood gas stove out of some cans, think I'm going to go have a look at water butts this week.

I'm back to cleaning water storage containers this week....and finding them under the pile of stuff my OH has covered them with in his efforts to bring things in before the cold weather seems to be the first task! His 'punishment' is to clean his tool boxes.

I'm working on what is possibly the biggest prep - moving out of the city like I should have done after 7/7. I've had a long-term plan for a while, but it will take some more time. Recent world events have spurred me to the decision I should be doing something about the interim, so I'm checking out the possibilities, aiming to move somewhere quieter before next Spring.

My eldest son passed my safety and whittling tests with a cheapo £1 pocket knife so I've just bought him a swiss army hiker knife. Other kids furiously whittling and sawing to get one of their own  The hiker just looked to me like the best EDC possible.
