Re: Lockdown?
but I can't get hold of seeds anywhere. And all the plants on ebay are PRE ORDER so I'm not sure whether to go for that and make sure I get some veg at some point. I keep getting emails from Sutton's (I don't work for them or anything like that) saying they are still delivering seeds and plants. I ...

Re: So what have we learnt?
I know one thing: after being unceremoniously binned , and now this month’s pay is looking very wobbly, I ain’t putting that effort in anymore, once work resumes. Jansman, not sure if this would help you but Martin Lewis (MSE) was saying that if you've lost you job go back to your employer and ask ...

Re: Will there be food shortages in the UK?
I popped into my local Aldi today, lots of the basics were gone but staff were asking the elderly and people who needed assistance if they got everything they needed. They were offering to see if they had any stock out back for their missing items (and appearing with said items) or taking orders to ...

Re: Now rice and long-life milk is disappearing from shelves
I popped into my local Aldi today, it had no pasta, pasta sauce, chopped tomatoes, rice, frozen veg, long life milk and toilet rolls. There was very little tinned veg but the staff were filling up trollies of out of date fresh veg that had not been bought.

Re: What to do with windows in a SHTF situation
ForgeCorvus, absolutely, those wooden shutters are lovely, and they give a great feeling to the room. Sadly, not many houses have them :( We have had shutters fitted to our bay window. They were not cheap but you could have them fitted retrospectively. They look great and people just assume it's a ...

Re: FLEAS!
When my moggies had fleas a few years ago we used indorex to treat the house. The stuff was amazing. We got it from a well known online retailer but I noticed today that the vets stocked the stuff. I tried some off the shelf ones and they just did not work. The only downside was that we all had to v...

Re: Quantities of medicines
I got cought out last year when I had a bad back. I was shocked at how quickly we went through paracetamol when I could not get out to replenish stocks. I now keep a minimum of 2 weeks per person of the basics like paracetamol, ibuprofen and stuff for an upset stomach (The basics really) in the hous...

Re: anti inflammatory cream
Other people may know this, but I didn't. The generic ibuprofen gel on the shelf is a lower strength than what is behind the counter. In tesco it even worked out better value to buy it from the pharmacy.
