Re: Nuclear War

I have the audiobook version. While it is indeed a book that expertly deals with the topic, I felt it always went to the ‘worst case scenario’ at every turn which is fine for the book, it wouldn’t sell if it was ‘a cooler head decided not to launch missiles over Russia’. Even though it’s not been us...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

Scots weather form getting seriously into next week's charts now - temps set to plunge and we will get a decent lot of snow, but too early to say exactly where. I'm trying to raise the energy to run round in circles and panic buy, but it's just not happening yet. I find a good panic takes a wee bit...

Re: Thinking about winter 24-25....

Is it just me or does this feel really mild for this time of year? My heating's been out of action for about four days, no possibility of a fix till tomorrow at 4pm, and I'm feeling it a bit :( I waited years to do this. When I lived in New Zealand, my old man came down in June for a job interview ...

Is it just me or does this feel really mild for this time of year? I’ve prepped the car but it’s hardly even been raining up in Edinburgh.

We have had one storm but other than that, nowt.

Re: Prices!!

I can’t remember how much I paid for them but when did folk start selling their first born to buy stock cubes?

I swear it’s the small stuff that is grinding my gears just now.

Re: Prices!!

Not at all Grenfell, I give my wife most of my wages and she runs the house as she’s far better than me at doing these things. Anyhow, I usually make home made soup for my lunch but unfortunately I left it on the bunker and had to go Tesco for lunch. Pot Noodles have gone up from £1 to £1.10. Now it...

Re: Winter car kit

So I have replaced all four tyres on my wee Polo, I have a sleeping bag in the boot, paracord and a camping knife.

Come to think of it, that’s dodgy if I’m stopped by Mr MacPlodd.

I best stick a first aid kit in as well!

Re: Prices!!

Try and buy from local coffee businesses if you can. You are supporting a local business and if you buy a bigger bag, it will save you money in the long run. I know of one business down in Morpeth that were on Dragon’s Den and do excellent coffee, I occasionally get a delivery from them and it’s wel...
