Re: In the event of nuclear war...

I wish I was as good at predicting lotto numbers. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/sep/14/alarm-in-uk-and-us-over-possible-iran-russia-nuclear-deal Iran is supplying Russia with ballistic missiles, Russia is helping Iran with building a bomb. Palestine is still in flames, Israel is lobbing ...

Hopefully not in your local parish church on a Sunday!

Re: In the event of nuclear war...

Hard to rationalise with a bunch of old men who believe that their sky fairy will keep them okay and get them to heaven if they obliterate other people who feel exactly the same way. Then there’s Saudi Arabia. Now they don’t have the bomb but have said that they would if Iran went nuclear. Except th...

Re: Evacuations-when you have to bug out in the UK

I was speaking to my mate who lives in Aberfeldy yesterday about this. He’s fine, he’s isolated and the town is hard to access with few roads and lots of shooting estates surrounding it. He has a log fire, the Birks which is a large stream next door and he has a back up generator for power. Loads of...

Re: N.H.S. views and experiences

I had to phone NHS 24 last Sunday as my glands on my neck blew up like balloons, headache and such like. An hour later, I was down at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary getting an emergency appointment with the GP as they were wanting to check me for meningitis! I knew it wasn’t that, but I have some sort of...

Re: Death by sheep

Interesting factoid. I think there’s more coos in the North Island, certainly in the Mooloo which is Waikato (south of Auckland) as there’s more money to be made from coos.

New Zealand lamb though is outstanding not that we would know these days, it all goes to China or the Middle East.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

Cheers Andy. The power bank is only really for a phone and maybe a couple of other electrical things. I got all this for a bit of camping I was going to do when I had my wee sadly departed pup but never really got round to it, it doubles up very easily. I might put my tent up as well to give it an a...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

I have a ‘what if?’ bag in the attic, I refuse to call it a ‘bug out bag’ for various reasons but it is more or less the same thing. I’m going to bring it down and go through it to make sure everything is working in it. Happy to take advice for the stock. So spare winter clothes. First aid kit. Port...
