Re: World War Z
Arzosah You’d be surprised just how serious members are about zombies, and the prep that goes into defending against them, mostly on US forums...firearm discussions holding the main. Fortunately I’ve studied modern firearms as an interest, not using them or even owning, more identification of types,...

Re: New comer.
Interestingly, rumour has it that some waste ground attached to the back of my property is going to be made into allotments, however, it is in the middle of surrounding back gardens like my own. I say this as a hopeful prepper for advice...but as such these intended allotments will be well known abo...

Roadless Landrover
This is a vehicle I like, used in forestry, etc. Think it comes under agricultural, therefore may be perks as normal as well as work transport. People tend to forget in emergencies, roads may be blocked or full of debris, that you will need a capable vehicle for rough-terrain, or off-road, but built...

Re: Prepper On A Budget
Raven Started a couple of years ago, money was handy, weather was bad, began thinking right there and then what I was lacking in equipment, supplies - maintenance was my main aim - strengthening things like fences, replacing padlocks, etc., building greenhouse shelving, fortunately there is a slope ...

Re: Prepper On A Budget
Thanks Deeps At the moment just short term - able to cope with 7-10 days without needing outside aid - once satisfied enough to cover this period, will begin to think more long term. Got a greenhouse and studying up on veg growing, etc., so theory in some areas at the moment. It is just myself in my...

Re: Prepper On A Budget
Thanks Raven Main areas I’ve tried to cover best - lighting, tools, spare greenhouse materials/accessories, repair material like wood lengths, stock up batteries, large bags of ground salt, reference books, useful clothing, work-vest (loads of pockets/pouches), security sensor lights, padlocks, padb...

Re: Emergency home lighting
I’ve got several wind-up multi-function torches, plus two wind-up radios that also have torch attachments, no batteries needed. Acquired also battery motion sensor lights for less-used areas, only coming on the few seconds needed. Loads of batteries in - AA, AAA, ‘D’...etc. Living alone I use a coup...

Re: World War Z
I read the book which I did enjoy. The film made an interesting point, which I raised on a zombie forum out of passing interest in their responses. It seems in many zombie scenarios, those who would like to be survivors fighting them, actually seem to specifically concentrate on what are known as ‘R...

Re: Audiobooks or reading?
Books preferably. I use a lot of reference titles, sometimes needing highlighted, or copied smaller or larger, depending on need, or study method - my own system of researching being based on Bruce Lee’s ‘Broken Rhythm’- which is when you combine various subjects together to gain the required detail...

Prepper On A Budget
New here from Scotland. Interested in prepping for years, only just found this U.K.-based forum, not much mention of U.K. preppers, usually assumed to be more in the U.S. I’m just a basic, low profile prepper, some helpful kit in, not too much, read a great deal on the subject, to at least know stuf...
