Re: Venezuela

You'd probably be able to afford to move after that scenario too ;)

Re: Venezuela

This is my dilemma ATM. On the one hand I have a reasonable cushion in the bank ATM (I could probably cope for up to a year with careful spending if I lost my job tomorrow & couldn't work) but if something, such as hyperinflation, were to kick off that impacts the value of those savings then I'd...

Re: Venezuela

Thanks for the very useful insight. I'm not sure if you still have contact with this person but I wonder how valued (or not) Gold is over there right now, in other words in their real-world situation is/would it be useful there right now given that cash (currency) value has plummeted?

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

I've just been given some green coffee beans that a colleague mistakenly bought (not sure what he thought they were but he nearly broke his grinder trying to grind them!! :-D) so I'll probably be doing a trial roast over the weekend. "Sumatra Mandheling" is what they're labelled as. I had ...

Re: Brexit-related prepping resource

I am a FB user & even though I'm already logged into it, when clicking this link I'm still also getting a "Sign up to Facebook" page so I'm afraid I don't trust it, whatever weird way they've created this page.

Re: Quantities of medicines

Today I finally got around to buying some large amounts of ibuprofen, a 96 from boots & 84 from Superdrug across the road. Saves trying to explain why I wanted more than one. Will get another couple of packs/bottles in a couple of weeks...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

Minor prep but a useful exercise anyway. We had the fire alarm go off at early work this afternoon. My first thoughts were: Phones (mine & work), car keys, pack-a-mac type coat I keep in my bag. We all trudged outside into the drizzle & I met up with colleagues who didn't have phones, wallet...

Re: Hi - I'm making a film - permission to post?

I suspect it's actually an interesting conundrum. I'll go out on a limb & suggest that any "serious" prepper would never discuss such things in public, other than with (known/trusted) like-minded individuals so I think a request like this would automatically filter any potential seriou...

I don't think they'll be missing them any time soon to be fair. Dad makes sure he has at least a couple of years worth of turf in the shed the majority of the time...
