Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

I seem to remember coal ashes and clinker being used to form paths. An uncle I had certainly used it in his garden as I can recall him doing it when I was probably 6 or 7 . I do wish I paid a little more attention as to how or what he mixed it with ( he also talked about working at Dunlop during the...

Re: Crypto robbery

Thanks for that , looks like Venezuela might be one to keep an eye on. Might even turn out we all end up with crypto's as part of our preps :D

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

To be fair I don't burn coal save for the occasional lump or two and no treated wood either and save the soot which I then leave to mature for six months or a year,. I then add a little to the soil as I'm turning it over and adding manure etc. My father did burn more coal than I do and did use the s...

Re: Rain water butts

How long a butt will take to fill depends upon how much it rains and the size of the catchment area feeding it. Connect it to a decent sized house gutter and it could fill very quickly , just leave it open at the top for rain to fall into it and it'll take forever.

Re: Crypto robbery

I wouldn't argue you're wrong and tend to have the same views with regards to physical assets. Of course though , Argentina's economy collapsed before the introduction of bitcoin and its ilk so the option wasn't there. It would be interesting to see just what would happen to a failing economy with c...

Re: Crypto robbery

It wouldn't surprise me if they were to also say that they store half of their preps at the supermarket too. I suppose though they may just have a point at least in some ways. True without electricity or the internet they wouldn't have access to their wealth but then neither will the criminals we've...

Re: What i am prepping for and why.

I spent close to two years in Bowness which is right on the shore of lake Windermere . I was actually working on the island in the lake which while that might sound a great place to bug out to in reality isn't , practically indefensible and mostly just plain inconvenient not the the intention of Diz...

Re: Crypto robbery

The Japan job is one thing, but the robbery I linked to is another. Its no different to any other home invasion.Except that they did not have to fill pillowcases with the family silver- they just forced someone to press a button. That could easily be a CASH transfer from your bank if you are a partic...
