Re: Prepping, relocation and moral dilemmas

I know this might be a really contentious statement ... but I'd be very doubtful about relocating for self sufficiency in troubled times if the location was far away from my own ethnicity, *whatever* my ethnicity was  I don't mean it as a gibe at any *one* ethnicity - its just that whenever r...

Re: How I'm prepping

nice post, brutally honest and to the point. looks like you know where your preps are weak already and have a plan in action to remedy that. you might want to stick a bag or two of logs on your short term list as we're rapidly heading into winter and although a Gas cut is unlikely a boiler breakdown...

Re: Thought I would put this here to see if anyone is interested.

If it sounds too good to be true/ fools and their money are soon parted...anyone else want to add a tried and tested saying about getting scammed? My initial feelings are that it sounds too good to be true and that it is a scam . in the initial stage there's certainly no money changing hands , in t...

Re: Thought I would put this here to see if anyone is interested.

Hmmm i'm always skeptical of new dotcoms offering something for nothing. heres a review from Bitcoin exchange guide (a site that's normally beating the drum as hard as they can for new crypto ventures) https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/initiative-q/ just realised itsy has already posted that link ......

Re: Woodlands??

I grew up with 500 acres of woodland at the end of my parents back garden ...... it was amazing and I do really miss it, I'd probably get more use out of it now than I did when I was a kid. I've been looking over the past few years at properties here in Scotland some are just super expensive or chea...

Re: Glassing Eggs

Have you ever tried coating the eggs in mineral oil ...... some people have had them over a year and they're still fine. never tried it myself as eggs don't tend to last more than a few days in this house. to check an egg just do a float test, large glass or pot of water, if it floats it bad all the...

Re: Suggestions for good quality walking boots

I have a few pairs myself the last ones I bought were Salomon Quest 4D II GTX boots. perfect fit and so comfortable straight out of the box. they're light weight and waterproof, pretty durable. I did wear them out last winter a few times and they performed perfectly but for a multi-day winter hike I...

Re: Tobacco

I had thought of growing tobacco myself years back and I have seeds saved, I don't smoke so if I did grow it, it would be all barter.

not sure how it'll grow here in Scotland, might try it out in the garden next summer.
