I've watched a few of his vids before but he seemed a bit 'excitable' but watched a couple of his food storing ones ...

Both welcome :) A big plus is you use less oxygen absorbers this way and you can actually see air being removed and not have to wait days to see if it works. Also if you use the largest mylar bags you can fill up a whole bucket with rice lentils pasta etc and then use the nozzle of vacumm to suck ai...

You have to put a strip of vacuum bag in the mylar bag

With the dry goods ie rice lentils I use my vacuum sealer with my mylar bags to suck air out from then. Add a oxygen absorber for extra safety
