Re: 2020 Potential Economic Collapse

No Deal Brexit more likely than ever following today's announcement. Check your preps. And yes, the country probably will collapse.

Re: Thermo flask under £20

A lot depends on the "quality" of the vacuum - I use inverted commas because of course you either have a vacuum or you don't.... I've had lots of thermoses that look good but lose heat rapidly. The best I've found is a Thermos-brand one (got its LSGC medal now) and a Kuhn Rikon one - even ...

Re: How many times can you use a disposable FFP3 mask?

If you're using a mask with an outlet valve then you might as well not bother. The purpose of facemasks is to stop YOUR stream of potentially virus-laden moisture droplets from entering the atmosphere, not to prevent you breathing it in. If you're really concerned about proper facemask use, then use...

Re: Metal detector

Re: Bandages & Dressings

I rely on Elastoplast Knee and Elbow patches when out with the kids - extra large and sticky. Elastoplast finger strips are good too - extra long to go around a finger. Otherwise for more serious injuries I have a selection of HSE medium and large wound dressings, which have the pad attached to the ...

Re: Fallout Shelter Handbook :)

A pal and I visited one of the big local administration bunkers where senior military and civil leadership personnel would have holed up for months until the slag cooled down enough to come back out. He's very astute - about half-way through he said "They'd have gone mad, wouldn't they? The mil...

Re: Bike to charge phones

I read an article on this - apparently it's just possible to charge a mobile phone off a dynamo hub but nothing more. I'm not sure how long it would take to charge a power bank. Here's an intro article: https://www.cyclingabout.com/best-hub-dynamo-system/ There was also a pedal-operated emergency po...

Re: Laser engraver for canned goods?

They both used a Fisher space pen which was developed independently by the Fisher company. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/fact-or-fiction-nasa-spen/ I use an indelible marker to write contents on the TOP of the tin - when you're looking down at a box of tins, it's very useful. I don't bo...
