Re: The modern survival manual
Agree. This is a very good book that brings the perspective of modern day preparedness down to earth. With real experience and common sense advice. Thoroughly recommend this one. Fernando's You Tube channel is very good too. He also has another book out - Bugging out and relocating - Worth getting i...

Re: Zippo lighter for £4.99
Got one out of curiosity. The first edition gives you the 'Florentine' version. Also got one from a £Shop and compared the two. Zippo: Has that nice clunk and click when opened... Pretty cool sound. Solid feel. Wadding is covered with a thick layer of felt Pound Shop version: Sounds Tinny Works as p...

Re: Slingbow as a good addition to BOB for SHTF?
Thanks...
I might give it a go and do some testing of my own. It's a good alternative to a hunting/defence system in a SHTF scenario.

Re: Slingbow as a good addition to BOB for SHTF?
Looks good. Ive been toying with the idea of making one out of my Cobra sling...... I notice you use a plastic half moon arrow guide, what advantage/disadvantage would a whisper biscuit make instead, (they are expensive)? What is the paracord system on the 'draw' end for? Would i have to modify (cut...

Re: Slugs and snails
Border off your plot and throw some slow worms in - they will eat ALL of the slugs, they go mental for them.
Firstly of course you've got to get some slow worms.

Water saving Shower System
Check out this BRITISH invention
http://www.bottleshower.com/
Looks great especially in the terms of making your water go further if in need of a shower and or washing hands when your water supply is limited.
For something that is lightweight and cheap, i'll be getting one.

Re: Poundland 10 litre water carrier.any good?
Bought two of these a couple of weeks ago for a little up-coming camping trip, thought what could go wrong... and for a pound "you can't go wrong". On first fill at the campsite water point (150 mtrs away from tent) the both looked like something out of a cartoon that had been shot multipl...

Re: Aldi mini telescopic lantern £3.99
Got one the other day: Pretty heavy for the size. Takes 3 AAA batteries. Produces good light for a tent / small enclosed space. Compresses down quit well. 4 modes of light - Bright, Dim, Flashing & Torch mode. Verdict - too heavy & too many batteries for any bug out bag. Would only use this ...
