Something that slipped my mind - washing clothes

Washing machine packed up, not the end of the world because we’re able to use a washing machine in another house (it’s empty atm, because the owner has been staying with us during the lockdown). While we’ll be fine this time, in future I’m going to store a bottle or two of handwashing soap so the ba...

Re: What preps are you going to do after Coruna?

Is the issue not that local council and NHS funding is based on an areas population. I.e number of hospital beds/ventilators per 100,000 people. So if there is a sudden dramatic increase in numbers, if can mean that local systems suddenly have too few facilities. When things are running as normal n...

Re: What preps are you going to do after Coruna?

I also found the hatred for second home owners quite interesting, especially as they all pay council tax and rates for their properties, I do wonder if the local councils in these rural communities take their money for granted. I would question the legal position of banning people from attending a ...

Re: What preps are you going to do after Coruna?

It will be a general, but deeper restock for me. Not being lazy and replacing stuff immediately! Now we know what a real shtf situation is, I think it will change a few preppers preconceived ideas too, like bug out bags for instance. On the preconceived ideas part - I've found it really interesting...

Re: Now rice and long-life milk is disappearing from shelves

In Northern Ireland, pasta has been gone for weeks and rice is hard to get. Those and hand sanitiser are the only real shortages present now, it's improved over the past week or so.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

Did the last big shop I'll be doing for a while, no real shortages of anything in the shops aside from soap/hand sanitiser and in Asda barely any bog roll. Up to about two weeks of food and a good supply of cleaning stuff. One silver lining of this is that prepping is suddenly a lot more acceptable ...

Re: UK running short of surgical and dust masks.

Anyone ever wondered why SARS, Swine flu,and this one,oh yes,HN51,seem to all come out of China? China has a lot of people, it's well-connected globally and the healthcare network isn't first class. It's probably a blessing that these diseases appear in China rather than somewhere like India or Ind...
