Re: this brought a smile to my face re seed saving
Didn't get the chance to start anything last year but this year I want to do something. I might be too late but still hoping I can get some done. Where can I order some heirloom seeds or seedlings from for best growth in the south? I live in London and you can grow pretty much anything in the south...

I've put solar panels in each of my vehicles to keep the batteries topped up when not being used. One is on the drive so could be charged using a mains battery charger, but the other is round the corner on the road. Experience has taught me that the 5-10w panels you can buy specifically for cars are...

No.We simply realised the symptoms .Sunday morning Mrs J. started coughing like a machine gun firing.Went on for 12 hours. I had an intermittent cough, and we both had a high temperature at various times. That came in 'waves' if that makes sense? Also aching legs at times. Feel great now. That sounds...

Potted up me tomato seedlings. I don't think I'm going to have much time this year to care for much in the way of veggies, so I've decided to concentrate on one veg that I know I can grow fairly easily, and I know I will eat.

Re: Will there be food shortages in the UK?
Yes, I saw that too - I've never seen empty shelves like we're seeing at Christmas, though, have you? :? Never! And it's never gone on for so long, either - the early shopping rush for Christmas is for presents, the food rush is only about two days. I may be wrong but I took it to suggest it was li...

Question to the house: Is Bio ethanol any use as a sanitiser ? As far as I can tell yes providing it is over 60% alcohol. It will be harsh on your skin if using it as a hand sanitiser but should be ok on hard surfaces. But possibly not some plastics. Test before use! And don't drink it! https://www...

NIDO comes highly recommended. It's available on Amazon (for now, Amazon in the US has announced the following): NEW YORK (Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) is suspending sellers from sending non-essential products to its U.S. and U.K. warehouses until April 5 in the latest move to free up invento...

Deeps - very much ditto. Grey man rules... if you scream "tacticool" you'll be the first man Mr Plod will look at, and then you'll be in a world of hurt (unless of course you are entirely within UK knife laws). I tend to have enough stuff on my person (a home made version of a Wazoo Cache...
