Re: Real World Test of 24hr BOB A Review.

Thanks for posting this, it's a great write-up and useful to see the practical as opposed to the hypothetical!

Re: Whiskey, Wine and Sweets

I am a spirits drinker and always have whiskey, rum, brandy and vodka in plus gin for the other half. I have thought about stashing a couple of bottles away but not actually done it yet. I like the good stuff but for a SHTF backup I would be happy with anything that doesn't remove my throat as I swa...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

jooqey, on the water front, you can also use any drinks containers that you would normally throw out. We purchase a lot of 2L Pepsi Max bottles in a week which before I started prepping would just be thrown away. Now I simply take off the labels, wash them out and fill them with water and store the...

Baked my first ever loaf of bread at the weekend as part of my 'back to basics' education :D . Just flour, yeast, salt and water. It actually tasted really good as well!

Re: Water collection / containers

Just a heads-up if anyone else has it on their wish list that the price of the Sawyer SP191 has dropped on Amazon by 16% to £137.86 with free delivery (£27 knocked off).

Re: Water collection / containers

Just to add couple of other products: as with the Sawyer products, the LifeStraw portable straw jobbies will filter bacteria but don't filter viruses. However LifeStraw also do "Family" and "Mission" filters which do claim to filter viruses, and are rather cheaper than the Sawye...

Re: Water collection / containers

Sawyer do produce a filter that claims to remove viruses, the SP194 and SP191. The SP194 2 bag system: http://sawyer.com/products/sawyer-complete-4-liter-dual-bag-water-purifier-system/ and the SP191 bucket adapter: https://sawyer.com/products/sawyer-point-zerotwo-bucket-purifier-assembly-kit/ I've...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

I spent four nice outdoor hours yesterday installing guttering to the backs of my shed and summerhouse feeding my two new 190L water butts. Rain is due today so I'll see how quickly they fill up which will be quicker than if I hadn't remembered late last night to check if the taps were turned off on...

Re: Hello Everyone

Welcome to the forum. There's loads here to make use of so dig in. The only zombies I'm prepping for are the 'I can't get a phone signal, has the world ended?' type. :D
