Re: My New BOL/Allotment Diary
The difference you've made in such a short time is fantastic! Can I ask, do you have a wood burner at home? What do you do with the ashes, if you do? They could help with either the paths or the mulch ... And your Starbucks comment reminded me about hairdressers/barbers - if you have a local one tha...

Re: influenza update
That report *does* sound a few warning notes, doesn't it. I'm going to keep my storecupboard of preps to a pretty high level ... my immune system is very wonky against viruses. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: My New BOL/Allotment Diary
Thats great! I've just been chatting on a gardening thread on my social site about how great broad beans are, leaving the soil better than when they got going
Love the idea of getting the soil set up and then letting it sit for a bit - its certainly going to repay you big time.

Re: What preps are you doing this week? part 2.
Not only did I finally spring-plant my garlic (been sitting in the kitchen for ages, left it out in the rain last night and there were green tips on the outer cloves, hurray) I'd prepared a little bed for them at the end of last year, but it wasn't quite well prepared *enough*, so I marked where I p...

Re: !!Getting Out!!
Great post, Quaid. I remember you going there, and as you say, it might be seen as an over-reaction now, but I'm so glad you kept at it, and that you've posted updates. That experience must be really valuable - as you say, keeping things going was full time. Huge learning curve, and thank you for sh...
