Re: Real World Test of 24hr BOB A Review.

I forgot to ask the logical follow up question ... what brand and model, please? Tech stuff just doesn't stay in my head long enough to do research and go to the shops and check things out and *then* buy ... I have to stand on the shoulders of others on this! It's a Kingsolar 25w 4 panel ...

Re: Real World Test of 24hr BOB A Review.

I'm seriously thinking about emergency travel again, so I wrote questions while I was reading through the second time :D : hope its okay to ask this many. Re: My EDC IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit)

Very few people do realise just what can be fitted into a small pouch. It was a similar thing with the guard on the train, he bought out the big box which had slings, bio-waste bags and large bandages but nothing of any real use. I pull out my pouch and he was amazed at what was in it. I've had simi...

Re: My EDC IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit)

Got told on the first aid refresher that sealing a chest wound with a 3 sided dressing / seal was a no no for a first aider in the latest revisions 6. Sucking chest wounds should be left open to the environment - Three sided dressings are no longer recommended. Due to clinical experience of both im...

LuminAid Solar LED "Pillow" Torch

Following on from a comment in "how are you prepping" I've done this little post on an item which was bought for me as a present (secret santa) So I am assuming less than £5 but is a great addition to my kit. It's called the luminAid and is basically an inflatable pillow with a LED light S...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

Good to see you back mate ;) I have been off-line too, but for less upsetting reasons. Im glad to hear you are getting over things, that insomnia is a bitch. It plays hell with your mind (and body) when you can least bear it, too. That solar, off grid thing isnt such a dream, you know...folks here ...

My EDC IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit)

After reading a few posts about what people have in their kit and experiences they have encountered, and having read a lot of what ParamedicPrepper has written I thought I would share mine with you all. Before I start, a little on my background. I have experience in advanced life saving skills throu...

The whole bag went inside a suitcase as checked luggage. It added an additional £40 to the flight but just stopped any hassle at the airport. I suppose that when/if it was x-ray'd they could see it was all hiking type equipment.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

Hello everyone... Well it's been a few weeks due to things going on here (all good). I've finally got a new job, I'm now working for the NHS. I've also been told that my PTSD Therapy is being wound down as we've made some great headway and I'm finally sleeping normally again. Besides that, I've been...

Real World Test of 24hr BOB A Review.

So a few weeks ago I mentioned I took my 24hr BOB to France with me (as hold luggage) on a visit to my mother. I planned a walkabout in the foothills of the Pyrenees, South of France and live off the land for 36 hours. The idea being I wanted to test my BOB contents in a real world environment somew...
