Re: City EDC Supplementary Tin
BOT: Most of my pocket kits are in soft zip-up cases (I use those clear pencil cases). What benefit do you gain from using a tin?? Honest answer is personal preference, I've not really thought about using anything else. Although the main advantage of the tin is the magnets work better with it and m...

Re: City EDC Supplementary Tin
I've not heard of the fresnel lens to be honest, so, thanks to google I know :) Almost a little gutted as the hospital I work at has recently thrown out 20+ OHP projectors, I could have popped the lens out of each one and made a few quid on eBay... To be honest, if I need to look at detail that woul...

Re: City EDC Supplementary Tin
I'm digging the wee tins mate, where did you get them ? I carry most of my stuff in my wallet (Mary Poppins handbag scenario) but I've eventually come to the conclusion that I could do with an extension. Thanks for the 'show and tell' mate. eBay Deeps. I got mine from a slow boat from China so were...

City EDC Supplementary Tin
We all have EDC stuff, such as our wallets/purses, mobile, multitool, torch, keyring etc and some of us carry additional kit every day in our work bags like a small first aid kit etc. Why do this? I've always carried an additional "survival" style pack with me which has proven to be a litt...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4
Well I've passed my Medical courses this week, so that's me back up to date for another 3 years for most of it and another year for the rest. Not going to lie, I'm a little gutted I wasn't allowed to take 'samples' of the drugs home. Could have made for a nice relaxed weekend! Here you go mate. I've...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4
This week I am on a 3 day medical course the start of the week to improve and re-certify some of my skills. Following on from that I'm in the process of updating my EDC tin. I'm creating a new purpose built light-weight tin that actually suits my needs. The old tin is a bit chunky and has a lot of s...

Thanks, I've never really thought about it. I'll look into it.korolev wrote:
Have you tried getting it fixed/replaced under the lifetime warranty ? I think the UK contact is http://www.whitbyandco.co.uk/ (no affiliation but I've heard a lot of decent things about them).

Re: Best Leatherman
I've an old Leatherman, think it's the Rebar. It now lives in the toolbox as it can't close anymore due to the amount of abuse it's had over the past 23 years. (It was a present on my 16th birthday) It's been twisted out of shape now & a few of the tools have broken. I now use a Gerber suspensio...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4
I've just got home from a week away in Norway. Spent a day hiking up to the Briksdal Glacier from Olden, that was really enjoyable. (Still feeling now though 4 days later!) Got some amazing pictures and had a really good laugh with some of the locals on my hike. Turns out it's the law in Norway that...

Re: Bob / edc back up phone
As a note for anyone thinking of buying a cheap back up phone, check your service provider will cover that make and model of phone. I'm with 3, and they will only cover 3g handsets and better. majority of the cheaper simple phones will only use 2g at best. I ended up buying a KAZAM dual sim phone wh...
