Re: Feeding the masses
"Going back to the scenario I can't see a sudden event causing tens of thousand if not millions requiring feeding but I could see more and more people requiring help over a period of time , perhaps after a global economic crash . We've already seen food banks open and their use increase over a...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 6.
Just look out for all the electric car owners kicking their plug in connection posts.
Or the people who cannot understand why they have no mobile phone signal.
My preps this week? Getting all the various batteries recharged.

Re: Feeding the masses
None of us are certain about what is coming, we just hope we are ready when it arrives. I've just finished reading "Five days at memorial" first hand accounts from staff and patients who survived the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, working and living inside Memorial hospital in New Orleans...

Re: Feeding the masses
Most members here I assume cater for their own families and friends,so have only so much they store at home. Just wondered how you would going about feeding a town or large city. Watched some on youtube where meals are prepared for 100,s or even 1000,s and unsure if work for any length of time. Sto...

Re: 20 litre Storage Buckets. Cheap but good.
We've been trying locally for a while now and no one has any available, or rather they already have someone taking them off their hands. (Preppers or Entrepreneurs I wonder?)
PS: We did manage to pick up some 25ltr plastic ex-oil containers from our local chip shop though. Ideal for water storage.

Re: 20 litre Storage Buckets. Cheap but good.
Wow! I need to start snagging the ones from the bakery at work! I bet we chuck 20 a week out. At 3 quid a pop , it’s worth doing. :D 20 a week! A good find if you can snag them Jansman. 20 used buckets from my supplier would work out at £2.55 each, including delivery, so still worth the effort if y...

20 litre Storage Buckets. Cheap but good.
Just had some of these storage buckets delivered and they are better than expected. Needed very little cleaning and all are in great, like new, condition. Bought ten this time (via Ebay) as a trial so paid £3 each, will be ordering more next time. All lids snapped tight and held water tight when tur...

Re: Real water problems
This thread has made me think about our water resources again. We currently have 1 x IBC tank (1000ltr) collecting rainwater and 7 x (300ltr?) conventional green water butts doing the same. We also have 2x blue (220ltr) empty / clean water butts ready to be filled with tap water if the need arises a...

Re: Real water problems
Something as simple as water can create mass migration and armed conflict so quickly. A timely reminder of how vulnerable we all are and not to moan about the rain.
