Re: Using old Diesel

I can see how that would work although it doesn't look to be any cheaper than the Aspen. A thought did occur to me however. I could probably trawl through the net to find the answer but perhaps you'll know Andy. As I understand the maximum amount of petrol that can be stored legally is 30 L. As that...

Re: Using old Diesel

I tend to think a lot of it depends upon the container. For long term I keep liquid fuel in metal cans topped up as much as possible to reduce the air gap and stored in a pretty stable environment. I distrust plastic containers a bit more for long term storage especially for petrol. As far as I unde...

Re: Using old Diesel

Probably five years ago I posted on here about using old diesel. I did a quick search but couldn't find it so gave up  but basically I'd had someone run into my van , 09 plate transit , so it was off the road. The insurance provided a hire van and I thought an ideal opportunity to try out some...

Re: What Knipex pliers size will you choose?

Ah I see. Working on the "I've got enough tools" comment said by no bloke ever I'd then be tempted to build a couple of toolkits. One that just lives with the scooter and has spanners sized just for that and another for travel containing the grips and adjustable spanner. And perhaps a scre...

Re: What Knipex pliers size will you choose?

I worked in restoration for quite some time and it was not uncommon to have to bolt plates onto timbers. Most of us carried adjustable spanners and I still have an 8" and 15" in my toolbox but for any number of bolting jobs the ridged spanners came out and they became part of the kit in a ...

If it's just for the scooter I'd be inclined to add a couple of the most common sized proper spanners...

Re: What Knipex pliers size will you choose?

If it's being carried on a scooter or any other vehicle I'd always lean towards the larger ones . Weight would be less of a problem and the extra leverage is always good. For travel the smaller size could be a decent idea if they have to fit in a pocket although saying that I have a couple of pairs ...
