Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
They both know the word Christmas is a four letter swear word to me Oh me too!! I cancelled as much Xmas as I could a couple of years ago when I realised that the panic attacks I took were always just pre-xmas. ( my daughter once thought I was having a heart attack and took some persuading not to t...

Re: How is everyone doing right now?
Sensible country living - I love that, it describes me much better than prepper. Indeed I sometimes feel a bit of a fraud here as my prepping is more geared to storing food and firewood than equipment. Not really into gadgets as my aim is to simplify my life where possible added to which I tend to b...

Re: Value Range foods compared
Still £1.99 for 200g. Very cheap. half the price of cheapest kenko. How bad could it be. They say it's part of their Everyday range. If I try it and like it it will be part of my "ten times a day" range. Just been shopping ( really depressing activity these days) and it's £2.35 in my Lidl...

Yes but I think it's a bit dearer than that now but still worth a try.jennyjj01 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 11:02 pm This one? https://www.lidl.co.uk/p/tea-coffee/bel ... offee/p333
£1.99 and less than half the price of my favourite Kenko smooth. If that's it, I'll give it a try.

Re: Value Range foods compared
A recent visitor commented that the coffee I served her was nice and was shocked to hear it was lidl gold at less than £3 a jar. Tried the cheaper one which wasn't very nice. Jenny's taste test is a good way to try and figure out what is worth it's money and what's not. I actually prefer tesco baked...

Re: Antibiotics
me too! I would love to have a stash of antibiotics but can't find a way to do it. The only suggestion I have is to research alternatives. Manuka honey or indeed any honey is a useful alternative for some things. Garlic, tea tree oil, tumeric spring to mind but any herbal will give you ideas. okay i...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
Just been shopping and had my cheapest shop in a long time - because I couldn't bring myself to buy anything but the absolutely needed. So I need to sit down now and plan my gardening for next year with more precision than usual as I need to get nearer to self sufficency quicker than planned. I know...

So life is a bit grim / but happy at the same time. So this week ,we shall try to avoid news as much as possible, and be positive and prepping as much as possible. Pretty much how I feel at the moment too. Son coming to sweep my chimney today. Planning to move some rasp canes thus expanding my rasps...

Re: New today
Welcome to the forum. I too have health issues, thankfully not disabled but have limits on my abilities to do things. It just makes being prepared to look after yourself even more important. I work on the assumption that no one is going to help and if they do it'll be a bonus, so it's down to me. It...
