Re: Water tight storage
Is the 3.5m water depth with the containers in the bottom of your bunker? Could you reduce the pressure on them by storing them at ceiling height? I have had solvent products in 20l metal tins with a lid and clamp around it, they have held internal pressure after being left in the sun. I'm sure I ha...

Re: Door
I think you may be better making it harder to spot as a door. It would be relatively simple to weld up an angle iron frame with some bracing then skin it with a steel sheet but unless you are going for incredibly thick and heavy plate it would only be a matter of time until somebody determined got t...

Re: puncture.........
The best thing to do with locking wheel nuts is bin them and fit proper ones in their place...thieves can get them off easily enough that they aren't a deterrent anymore. Sidewall punctures can be legally repaired by a place that does proper vulcanisation repairs, happens regularly with lorries and ...

Cream for burns?
I need to pick the collective memories here. About 30 years ago I happened to pick up a piece of metal that had just been cut with a welding torch, needless to say I dropped it instantly and my hand went into a bucket of water, in the meantime my dad produced a tube of cream that he had been given y...

Re: My gear so far --->>
Just a quick comment, 200l of water is 200kg, that's a lot of load in one spot of an attic floor unless it's set over a supporting wall.
Look forward to the rest of the list.

I think it will also depend on the conditions it's been stored in cool and dark would be better than fluctuating hot and cold I would assume.

Re: Mining as a part of prepping
No idea about currency but there used to be a couple of exposed coal seams in old railway cuttings near me, they were fairly extensively dug during the miners strike, from experience when I was cold and didn't have money to spare for coal it's hard and heavy work and requires motorised transport to ...

Re: Track records for different vehicles/years
Over here in the UK the square type jeep Cherokees had a reputation for rotting and breaking rear diffs/ axles. On the plus side the 6 cylinder 4.0 engine is good, the diesels were a bit poor IMO, an LPG conversion makes for an affordable sensible daily drive if you live close to a filling station t...

Re: Found A tunnel
Wow, I'm jealous would love to discover something like that on my property, I haven't seen anything interesting turn up in the building sites I've been on for a couple if years now and even then it was just the walls of the original house that was bombed in the war.
