Re: Interesting article on continuing flour shortages.

I dont know if this will help but I remember reading that if you put your bags of flour into ziplock bags then freeze it for 24 hours it destroys the eggs of the mite thingys that is in all flour because the freezing kills the eggs thus prolonging the shelflife. Supermarket shelves are pitifully empty, not just of plain and self raising, but ...

Re: Something that slipped my mind - washing clothes

Washing machine packed up, not the end of the world because we’re able to use a washing machine in another house (it’s empty atm, because the owner has been staying with us during the lockdown). While we’ll be fine this time, in future I’m going to store a bottle or two of handwashing soap so the b...

Antennas relocated

Took the opportunity during the enforced lockdown to relocate my easily visible CB antenna from an 18 ft mast to a wire dipole in the loft, lost some range but the imcrease in privacy was worth it. also shifted the PMR446 dipole along the wall a bit and partially hiding it behind a drain pipe, again...

Re: First failure (dammit)

Bloody electric kettle has given up the ghost now, having to use the old fashion one from the camper van for now. There seems to be quite a lot of electronic items failing at the moment, I wonder if the reduced staff at UK power could be causing power spikes damaging equipment? Well at least I'm lu...
