Re: Hi Everyone :)

Hi and welcome! As others have said, try not to bug out unless you really have to. If bugging out becomes your only choice, how many exits does your building have, is there a service entrance (just thinking of a way out that has less footfall) Again as others have said, Use google maps or your curre...

Re: What are you growing / starting off ?

My raised bed I ordered a week ago is no longer coming due to the manufacturing factory closing with the current climate.

So back to square one growing my own produce. I was going to make it myself but was easier to buy a kit

Re: Shed with a hidden agenda

Good shout! Il look into that idea I’m more worried about how il get away with digging the hole and nobody getting ideas Just tell them that you're putting in a rainwater harvesting system to use to flush your loo and be more eco friendly, they'll just think you're a hippie. Good idea! Very vague p...

Re: Potential UK power failure

Not sure how quiet they are but some pretty hefty looking generators on the mod sales website, looks like the type they put outside a house with a long term power issue/failure with fuel tank built in

Shed with a hidden agenda

So... I would like to use this current climate and time off work, to start making plans and a budget. The mrs is a hairdresser and since moving in we’ve always had the plan of removing our small shed that came with the house and putting a large shed at the back of the garden. It would be dual sided,...

Re: Are you using less?

I’m usually pretty good with food waste, anything going out of date I will use in our dinner or cook something up for lunch the next day etc. Any excess from a meal we physically can’t eat or don’t have the space to freeze the dogs will get. Anything I can’t put in my composter I put into our food w...

Re: Potential UK power failure

On a more simple approach and probably a good idea even if one does have solar panels or generators is something we used to do in the seventies when there were more power cuts than we get nowadays. My parents had a chest freezer and it was kept full and empty space filled with bottles of water to a...
