Re: Solar charger for batteries?

Have a look on eBay for USB solar panels, then buy a USB battery charger. For example - you could buy this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ring-RSP1400-14W-Foldable-Portable-Solar-Panel-Charger-Ideal-for-Tablets-and-/253147272774?epid=1243546663&hash=item3af0c0d646:g:yuwAAOSwIQdZLqVI And something li...

Re: Hello everybody, what's your thoughts?

Hi mate. Prepper insurance is a concept discussed on TheUrbanPreppers channel on youtube. That guy is nuts but he's not daft. Get on it. Personally, I have flipped and flopped over the prepper mentality over the years and now I've decided that it will probably continue to flip and flop. Sometimes I ...

Re: Small Solar Panels

My experience is that a 6w panel won't even maintain a lead acid battery indefinitely, although it may slow down discharge. If it was 10w I may be tempted for £30, but it just doesn't look like it will do the job. Also, one of the reviews says that it won't tolerate rain which renders it pretty much...

Re: Whiskey, Wine and Sweets

Deeps - does boxed wine keep as well as bottled? They're definitely easier to store, but they don't seem robust.

Re: Portable charger for phone

The Aukey provides 2.1amps of charge and gives my iPad mini a couple of charges. I'm 99% certain the Anker one does too. I'm also 90% sure that pretty much any 20000mah (or less) battery will support an iPads 2.1a draw. The iPhone is pretty much the only phone on the market that still requires a ver...

Re: Slingbag/Gearslinger

You're probably right about the centre of gravity, I'll have to assess how much of a problem is when I get it though. I'm not intending on putting a shed load of weight into it, and I'm not planning on using it for hiking (although I do walk a lot). I'm just after it to be comfortable for every day ...

Re: Slingbag/Gearslinger

That bag looks the business for £17.49 Plymtom, although it is a bit ugly. I like all the little pouches in black. The appeal to me, if the quality is actually ok, is that all those pouches can just go inside the bag while the full capacity isn't being used, but if needed, they can be stuck on the s...

Slingbag/Gearslinger

I'm in the market for a new EDC bag. I've got a cheap but cheerful Mountain Warehouse 20L bag at the moment, does the job but it's not brilliantly made and I doubt it will see another year. The stitching around one of the inside pockets had already come away before I'd bought it, got it home and fou...

Re: Money suggestions

I really like Martin Lewis. I've used his site for years and think there is a lot of very useful ideas on there. The forum is a bit aggressive though. Lots of angry people with bad attitudes. His advice is totally logical and makes since almost all the time, but it's not the only way of thinking, it...

Go Outdoors WIN!

My membership card ran out nearly a year ago, I didn't renew because I felt that I didn't need anything and I've been trying to avoid buying stuff impulsively. However, I've had that little BG hatchet on my want list for a couple of years and I recently donated my camping cook kit to my sister-in-la...
