Re: any of you on prescribed meds?

My herbal advice comes from two courses I've done taught by a medical herbalist who's run a herbal pharmacy for years. I would only make tinctures for myself to deal with minor ailments. Anything worse I always go to my doctor. Never, never never buy meds online.

Doctor in your pocket!

I found this on the Netmums site. Called "Babylon" it's a remote medical service you get an app for on a smartphone. Talk/ text to a doctor or on screen without leaving home and even arrange prescriptions to be sent to your nearest pharmacy!

Re: Nettle Tea for Hay Fever

A friend of mine is a qualified Herbalist and he swears by Plantain and elderflower tea ( or just plantain). Nettles contain loads of iron, minerals and stuff better used for pain relief and a good tonic rather than hay fever.

Re: The age old question

I find it shocking that so many women aren't preppers. Men are "wired" to defend realtime, physical threats, e.g raiding parties, sabre toothed tiger and spearing an antelope at fifty paces. Women are wired to prevent abstract problems, illness, starvation, injury and disharmony in the tri...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? part 2.

I've got a supply of free shredded paper. It's for the chicken run and the used stuff composts really well! The fresh stuff is great on a bonfire. I've also ordered EHIC cards for the family (European Health Insurance Card) for our holiday. Go to NHS website. It's a short, easy form and you get the ...

Re: Gluten free Kettle foods

I can't eat wheat or barley and buy gluten free flour and make my own crumpets, pancakes, pastry, crumble and cakes. Several different types of rice and vegetable- based noodle I get all cook in 4 minutes in boiling water. Miso soup as well.Fresh fruit, meat and veg from reduced aisle and market. Go...
