If you really think you'll need something bigger than a Mora, how about a Cold Steel SRK? Functional large full tang bushcrafting knife.

I'm no expert, but if you wanted to baton with that the knife's spine is the wrong shape. I guess it's okey if you're expecting to do a Rambo part 1..... From what I understand, anywhere you take that thing you'd be in danger of getting it confiscated and a police record and you won't have an excuse.

I agree with this. There's a lot of material preps that can make life a lot easier bugging in or out, but the best preps imho are sustainable tools and skills. Stored food (canned, feeze-dried, dehumidified) is the possible exception of a necessary non-sustainable material prep - such food might be ...
