Re: Difficult to make, useful, but currently very cheap

If you can use them, mooncups are better. They last longer, are easier to clean, and are all round far less hassle. Plus, a stock of those takes up way less space than a stock of tampons & pads. I've heard good things about them. Might be worth adding to the preps, but not sure my girls would m...

Re: Prepping and climate change

This is something that worries me. Whilst I'm not up to date on all climate change facts and figures ( too much text scrambled my dyslexic brain) I'm trying to make more changes at home. Probably more because of uncertainty over our future financial situation, a move to be more environmentaly consci...

Re: Dehydrating questions

That vit C powder sounds intriguing, is there 'science' to support its effect ???? Nope, well I don't think so. There are lots of Pinterest pins on dehydrated orange peel and benefits of it, I'm not sure if it's true or not. There are also lots on fruit gummies. My thoughts were fresh oranges made ...

Re: Dehydrating questions

Thanks. I have tried peas and already used some. I also did some carrots, but after the extra effort I have bought frozen veg to try. I'm waiting for warmer weather to do the onions having read many times how it stinks out the house so I can do it outside in my workshop. The dehydrator was on most d...

Dehydrating questions

Hi, I've had my dehydrator for about a month now and love it. So far it's mostly been used for fruit leather and dried fruit. Long term storage is not an issue as my youngest loves them. Some of my questions ... 1) meat. I seem to read that this is only 3 months storage, which to me is a lot of effo...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

"As I also have a bad cold that's had me in bed more than I would like. Having a rest now before cracking on." You haven't been anywhere near Asia recently have you? Fortunately no. Just the normal germs for this time of year. Something I'm keeping watch on though, it's like a slowe...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

Resorting out my stores in hopefully a more logical way. Spread sheet for what to have ( I will print a copy out when I have completed it and also have solar tech charger to cover power cuts). It's been challenging and in my year of gathering I realised it was not practical. Once completed I will ha...
