Re: Snatch Landrovers

Keep it chained down or some bugger will steal it for export! Seriously holding onto the thing in the meantime needs to be a priority, I know a tree surgeon who has had to resort to chaining his down to a ground anchor overnight to stop repeated thefts even when the vehicles were immobilised so had ...

Re: FLEAS!

I can't offer a perfect solution but I can suggest a warning. In our household our dog is the OH's "baby" so she makes a point of doing everything positive for him that he can, e.g. raw fed etc. (We realised after we lost our last dog 7yrs ago how many issues he had such as itchy skin etc...

Re: FLEAS!

Our vet recommended an alternative to Frontline called "Bravecto" which is supposed to last for three months between treatments, it's seems to be working so far, nine months in. https://us.bravecto.com/ Antone seen an increase in ticks? Yes definitely more ticks in the earlier part of the...

Re: Diy 6x6 pickup build

Does it need to be road legal now or just a toy and useful if SHTF? If it needs to be road legal you would be better buying something like a Carmichael 6 wheel range rover fire tender and modifying that, without a LOT of research, hardwork and expense it's unlikely anything self built will meet the ...

Re: Pain

I'm not sure if the Dr mentioned it but you shouldn't take ibuprofen with naproxen - so I was told last week after a doctors visit, I went through the information leaflet but couldn't spot any reference to it. Incidentally naproxen is available over the counter in other EU countries so you may be av...

AdamBBC What about changing the title/ theme to maybe self resilience in the advent of a personal or local/ national emergency. In fact if you could avoid the use of the term prepper or survivalist at all it would probably be a good thing. Good luck with the project, hopefully you keep getting one o...

Re: Low-cost recipe blog

I've never known how to use herbs in cooking, wish I did. Just buy some common ones and throw some in when cooking, if it tastes better/ nice add a little more next time. I like to chuck a bit of Cajun seasoning over potato wedges and stuff like that. Mixed with sweet chilli sauce it makes a nice m...

Re: Living in a van or off a small plot.

Have you asked if there's any work on the campsite over winter or now to pay your rent and maybe a bit on top?

Re: puncture.........

The above is the reason I have Mutts Nutz RAC cover, smartphone and RAC App! I'd be shamed getting the RAC/AA out just to change a wheel... ;) Beware if you get the AA out after getting a puncture due to hitting a pot hole they class it as accident damage/ recovery not a breakdown and it's £1...

Re: How would you get home if SHTF?

I've had a bit of a wake up call with this recently, there's been a shortage of lpg autogas in most of the country, luckily we had both vehicles full and they will run on petrol (but badly in the case of my van). Working further away for a few days meant I went through the 140l I had and no more was...
