Re: Gloves and coronavirus
Yes I'm another one who gloves would be little if any advantage, I'm a face and hair touching type, and I'm trying to curtail it, and at the shops given that goods are out there by people, touched by other shoppers, and the virus is reported to be able to survive on hard surfaces for up to 24 hours,...

Re: Will there be food shortages in the UK?
The question is, is there enough slack in the system to cope with increased demand generated by the prospect of everyone needing enough at home to stay at home for 2 weeks ( once?) ? I'd say there will be major problems, the just in time system probably extends right back to the source in most cases...

Re: are you planning to hunker down to avoid ppl contact due to covirus
The projected length of the crisis means shopping still has to be done, and my son will still have to go to work, other than that we should minimize contact with others, this is like Russian Roulette - only with greater odds of getting shot, and lesser odds of dying, imagine your revolver has 6 cham...

Re: Lockdown?
For many people being with their "other half" and perhaps "the kids" 24/7 will be an eye opener. I Actually for 4 of 5 of us that is the norm as 3 of us do not go out but for medical appointments, but I can confirm although my lot are all adults now a whole family in a normal ho...

While its bulky its an easy prep to have isn't it. Do you remember the term "gurning" when you pull a face, well when picking up my daughter from school many years ago, there was a friend of her's grandmother hoping from one leg to the other with a face on I will never forget, I asked what was wrong to which she replied " I wish they ...

Re: UK running short of surgical and dust masks.
:tinfoil Territory ; Once or twice whilst having alcohol fueled debates I had suggested that with population being an issue, it would not surprise me if some countries were working on flu like things as almost an ethnic cleansing thing, or thinning the population in general, like I said alcohol fue...

Re: UK running short of surgical and dust masks.
Although I also shared the view that, viewed in isolation, the numbers don't appear that scary, however we have to bear in mind that this infection rate is happening in cities that are effectively totally locked down, who knows what the infection numbers would look like if it were treated as "...

Re: UK running short of surgical and dust masks.
This may cause offence and I certainly don't want to trivialise a lethal illness that has no cure and is spreading but I do feel things should be kept in perspective in that currently around 500 people have died from the new corona virus. This needs to be considered against the half a million peopl...
