Re: using what food comes your way.
... you can freeze stuff down week by week till you get enough product to make something. Thats exactly what I'm doing with fruit from the garden - harvesting a tiny amount each day, 3 - 4 mouthfuls of each, alpine strawberry, raspberry and now blackcurrant (when I can shake the ants off :( ) I'd r...

Re: Waving a big hello!

I've just switched to Asda from Sainsbo for deliveries, and their tinned tatties, although 25% cheaper, have a best before date a year earlier than Sainsbo's. I'll carry on stocking up instore at Sainsbo, its the only one in walking distance, so I'll still be getting the longer term ones. Otherwise,...

Re: Prepping on a tight budget
The thing to be wary of in deliveries of tinned foods is that the tins can get bashed about really easily, and that makes them no good for longish term storage :( I've just switched from Sainsbo to Asda, because I'm fed up with how badly the Sainsbo website lets me down in different ways all the tim...

Cut off the tops and bottoms, and join them together in lines to create a makeshift solar panel for a dehydrator etc. http://www.builditsolar.com/Experimenta ... Screen.htm

... brand spanking new stuff and brain numbingly pink. I had a well-protected seatbelt cutter that was bright pink  but the plastic broke away from the blade and made it useless, sob ... I have a pure stainless steel replacement (not so well protected, pah) but I do miss my bright pink one...

Sorry to hear of the uncertain times, DD ... you mention all the eateries locally - I presume you don't want to try for cheffing jobs in them? A couple of things spring to mind ... if you have an online shop, it doesn't matter where you are. What about an online shop selling cooking equipment, with ...
