I do get that these are wind up and as such are a good call, i've always wondered if anyone will produce wind up handhelds?
i've been searching for a new VHF/UHF handheld 'ham' radio that takes normal batteries, there are a few, but how to charge batteries of any sort is the question?

Have a look for MIDLAND ALAN 42 MULTI HANDHELD, this is a 80ch+ handheld that converts to use in the vehichle, i have two, they are really nice to have with a simle 3.5" mag mount to chuck in for an impromptue convoy. If you are looking for a small in car set for the money you cant go far wron...

I'm glad someone has already asked this one, good starting lists to, thanks, as for the BOB its self, there seems to be alot of the Molle type ones on the market, they are all over £50, but good army surpluss shops have good reliable bags for far less, second hand is good i recon.
