I've several filters, my favorite for family / group is the Lifesaver Jerrycan and a Berkefeld at home for water from the stream out back.

Another vote for Tecsun who make some quality gear for not a lot of coin. AM/FM and Shortwave. Lot of English speaking stations broadcast on shortwave. The Eton rigs are also good but cost a bit more.

Look on Ebay for a tatty old looking Primus stove, No5 is very common. They are so simple to get up and running. I'll offer advice if needed.

The frontier stove is smaller, the flue is shorter and the build quality is not as good; I sold mine and got the Wildo.

The shinabro 340 a good solid stove. I've more paraffin stoves than I'll admit to owning (well, got to have a hobby) and use one or two on my camping trips.
